It is an easy and simple spicy and savoury deep-fried snack made with chickpea flour and mashed potatoes.

Ingredients of Aloo Bhujia

  • 1 potato, boiled
  •  cup besan 
  • ¼ cup rice flour
  • 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp aamchur
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp oil
  • oil for frying

How to Make Aloo Bhujia

  • Grate 1 potato finely.
  • Add besan and rice flour.
  • Add chilli powder, turmeric, cumin powder, garam masala, chaat masala, aamchur, salt and oil.
  • Mix well.
  • Knead the dough adding water.
  • Grease oil and knead to smooth, soft and non-sticky dough.
  • Grease the small holed mould and stuff dough into it.
  • Press and spread the bhujiya in hot oil forming a circle in the oil.
  • Flip over and fry the other side till it turns golden and crisp.
  • Break aloo bhujia into pieces and enjoy tea time snack.
