Potato Halwa is a delicious Indian sweet which is mostly made for vrat. Super easy to prepare, this sweet goodness is sure to satiate your taste buds and fill your tummies with contentment.

Ingredients of Potato Halwa

  • 5 potatoes
  • ½ cup ghee
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ tsp saffron food colour
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 2 tbsp cashew (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp almonds (chopped)

How To Make Potato Halwa

  • Take potatoes and pressure cook for 5 whistles.
  • Peel the skin of the potato and grate.
  • Heat ghee and add boiled and grated aloo.
  • Saute for 5 minutes.
  • Add sugar and saffron food colour.
  • Now sugar starts to melt.
  • Cook on medium flame for 15 min.
  • The halwa will start to hold shape releasing ghee.
  • Heat ghee in another pan. Add raisins, cashew and almonds.
  • Roast on low flame.
  • Transfer the roasted nuts over the halwa.
  • Enjoy aloo ka halwa topped with more dry fruits.
