Basundi is an Indian sweet mostly in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. It is a sweetened condensed milk made by boiling milk on low heat until the milk is reduced by half.

Ingredients of Basundi
- 2 litre milk
- 2 tbsp cashew, (chopped)
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 tbsp almonds, (chopped)
- 2 tbsp pistachios, (chopped)
- ¼ tsp saffron
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder
How To Make Basundi

Take a kadai and boil milk stirring occasionally.

Add chopped cashew, almonds and pistachios.

Stir continuously, so milk doesn’t stick to the bottom.

Boil the milk on low flame for 30 minutes.

Stirring in between to avoid sticking till the milk reduces to quarter.

Add sugar and saffron and mix well.

Add cardamom powder and mix well.

Serve basundi chilled or hot garnished with dry fruits.
