Ingredients of Beignets
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 3/4 cups All Purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
How to Make Beignets

Add the yeast and half the sugar and warm water in a bowl and mix well to the yeast can get to work.

Take 3 ¾ cups of flour and salt and mix well.

When yeast mixture is bubbly, put in the milk, vanilla, remaining sugar, and add the egg.

Add half the flour mixture and whisk together until smooth.

Add the remaining flour and begin mixing on medium speed, now add butter and make smooth dough.

Cover the dough with cotton cloth for 2 hours.

Add oil to a large pot fitted with a candy thermometer and place over medium-high heat.

Cover a wire cooling rack with a few layers of paper towels.

Once risen the dough, cut into quares.

Once the oil become hot, put beignets in kadhai.

Fry until the bottom is puffed and golden, flip over untill golden brown.

Put onto the paper towels then dust with powdered sugar and enjoy!
