Khajur modak or modak dates is an easy and healthy recipe that you can make for this Ganesh chaturthi. It has no sugar, just the natural sweetness of rich, healthy dates with nuts. Just need a modak mold to shape.
Ingredients for Dates Modak
1 Cup Dates Without Seeds
¼ Cup Chopped Mixed Dry Fruits
1 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp Khas Khas or Poppy Seeds
¼ tsp Cardamom Powder
How To Make Dates Modak
- Heat the ghee in a saucepan, then put the chopped dried fruit and roast it until crisp, make sure it does not change color in order to roast it at low heat, take them out on a plate and keep them aside.
- Take the seedless dates and coarsely grind them in a blender, now transfer them to a plate and toasted nuts too, add poppy seeds and cardamom powder.
- Now mix them well with your hands and grease the modak mold with ghee, now grease your hands with ghee so that the mixture does not stick to the hands, fill the mixture in the mold.
- Unmold the modaks from the mold and serve.If sometimes the modak cannot unmould easily, keep it in the freezer for 15 minutes, then unmold it and enjoy it.
