Here is the super simple recipe of Madurai special Jigarthanda to prepare at home. It just tastes divine with all the benefits of badam pisin, nannari syrup and milk.

Ingredients of Jigardanda

  • 2 teaspoons badam pisin (katira gond or almond gum), soaked overnight
  • 2 cups water for soaking
  • cups milk
  • tbs condensed milk or add as required
  • tbs rose syrup
  • scoops vanilla ice cream or any ice cream

How to Make Jigardanda

  1. Rinse badam pisin (katira gond or almond gum) in a bowl with water.
  2. Soak overnight.
  3. The next day you will see the badam pisin become jelly like.
  4. Strain the extra water from the soaked badam pisin in a strainer and keep aside.
  5. Take condensed milk. Add chilled milk and mix very well.
  6. In a glass add 2 tbs badam pisin. Add rose syrup.
  7. Add condensed milk.
  8. Add 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  9. Put some rose syup from the top. Add some dry fruits.
  10. Serve jigarthanda drink immediately.
