Ingredients of Masala Poli
- 1.5 cups Plain flour
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp salt for dough
- Water to knead the dough
- 2 tsp oil for the dough
- 1 Potato boiled and mashed
- ¼ cup green peas
- 3 tsp Oil
- ½ tsp Mustard seeds
- Few curry leaves
- 2 onions finely chopped
- ½ tbsp cashew nut bits
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1.5 tsp sambar powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- ½ cup Coriander leaves chopped
- Ghee
- 2 tbsp Idli Milagai Podi
How to Make Masala Poli

Add 1.5 cups plain flour, turmeric powder, and salt in a bowl, knead soft dough with water.

Add 2 tsp of oil, Cover for 2 hours.

In a pan add 2 tsp oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves.

Add finely chopped onions and a little salt, Saute till they become translucent.

Add the mashed potato and blanched green peas.

Add turmeric powder, sambar powder, garam masala, few cashew bits, and salt.

Mix well and cook well.

Add coriander leaves, Mix well and cool completely.

Make small balls out of the potato stuffing.

Open the dough and Grease a parchment paper.

Place a dough ball in the center, and extend the dough.

Place the potato ball in the middle of it and cover it well.

Close this with another greased paper, roll with a rolling pin.

Place the rolled poli on a hot tawa.

Cook on both sides, Smear ghee.

Sprinkle idli podi generously and sprinkle coriander leaves.

Flip and smear ghee if needed.

Take out from the pan. Enjoy hot.
