It is a sweet snack with wheat flour to make on festivals and a great snack for kids’ tiffin boxes.

Ingredients of Papchi 

For the Dough

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 4 tbsp rice flour
  • ¼ cup Ghee
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Water to knead

For Sugar Syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • kewra essence 
  • ½ cup water
  • Oil for deep frying

How to Make Papchi 

  1. Take a bowl and add rice flour, whole wheat flour, salt, and ghee. Mix well.
  2. The mixture should be able to hold the shape. Heat oil in a kadhai.
  3. After 15 minutes knead the dough again. Divide it into two equal portions. Roll out one portion into a big circle. With the help of cutter, cut out small disc from the rolled dough.
  4. Make impression using a fork. This will help the disc not to puff up while deep frying.
  5. Deep fry them on medium flame.To cook properly papchi need a temperature from medium to low. Fry all the disc and drain them on paper towel.

    Make sugar syrup

    Heat sugar with ½ cup of water.

  1. Add cardamom powder and kewra water.
  2. Make one string.
  3. slide the papchi disc into the syrup. As soon as they are coated with syrup remove them on a greased surface. After cooling down sugar syrup will get dry.
  4. When papchi comes at room temperature and syrup is cool down, store them in air tight container.
