Ingredients of Papchi
For the Dough
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 4 tbsp rice flour
- ¼ cup Ghee
- ¼ tsp salt
- Water to knead
For Sugar Syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- kewra essence
- ½ cup water
- Oil for deep frying
How to Make Papchi

Take a bowl and add rice flour, whole wheat flour, salt, and ghee. Mix well.

The mixture should be able to hold the shape. Heat oil in a kadhai.

After 15 minutes knead the dough again. Divide it into two equal portions. Roll out one portion into a big circle. With the help of cutter, cut out small disc from the rolled dough.

Make impression using a fork. This will help the disc not to puff up while deep frying.

Deep fry them on medium flame.To cook properly papchi need a temperature from medium to low. Fry all the disc and drain them on paper towel.
Make sugar syrup
Heat sugar with ½ cup of water.
- Add cardamom powder and kewra water.
- Make one string.
- slide the papchi disc into the syrup. As soon as they are coated with syrup remove them on a greased surface. After cooling down sugar syrup will get dry.
- When papchi comes at room temperature and syrup is cool down, store them in air tight container.
