Ingredients of Raw Banana Tikki

  • 3 medium raw bananas
  • 1.5 cups for water
  • 10 cashews (chopped)
  • ½ inch ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1 tsp freshly crushed black pepper
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp chopped mint leaves
  • 2 tsp water chestnut flour or amaranth flour
  • rock salt 
  • 2 tsp ghee for frying

How to Make Raw Banana Tikki

  • Put bananas in cooker with water.
  • Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
  • Peel and mash them.
  • Then add all of the other ingredients, except oil.
  • Now take equal portions and shape them into patties.
  • Heat ghee in a flat pan, place the tikkies.
  • When the base is cooked and becomes light golden, turn over and fry the other side.
  • Fry the tikkies till they become golden and crisp.
  • Drain the fried tikkies on kitchen paper towels.
  • Serve banana tikkies with coconut chutney or coriander chutney or mint chutney.
