Singhare ki poori is a delicious Indian fry bread made with water chestnut flour, mashed potatoes, edible rock salt and a few spices. These singhare ke atte ki puri are made during Hindu religious fasting days like Shivratri fast or Janmashtami.
Ingredients of Singhare ki poori
- ¾ cup Singhare ka atta
- ½ cup Potatoes boiled
- Coriander leaves
- Rock salt
- Oil for deep frying
How to Make Singhare ki poori

Boil the potato in a pressure cooker.

Then peel it and mash it till it is smooth.

Take singhare ka atta, rock salt, boiled potato and cilantro in a bowl.

Mixing with your hands.

Then start kneading into the dough without adding any water.

Make smooth ball and flatten.

Use the thick plastic or ziplock bag to make the rolling part easier.

Start with patting it with your fingers. Do seal the edges it they break.

Heat the oil in a pan.

Slide one puri into hot oil.

Once it is browned from one side, flip it and fry other side as well.

Then remove it to a paper towel lined plate.
