Creamy, sweet and tangy, the Thousand Islands dressing is so good made from scratch. Use it on burgers, Rubens, salads and more.
If you’ve been craving a Ruben sandwich or need a “secret sauce” for your next burger, you probably have all the ingredients you need to make this quick, creamy, and delicious dressing.
Homemade Thousand Island dressing only takes a few minutes to whip, and like most foods, the flavor of the house beats even the best store-bought bottle.

  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup yellow onion, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sweet paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

  1. Amalgamate all the ingredients in a small mixing bowl
  2. Transfer to a jar with a lid and store in the refrigerator until use:
For best flavor, wait 24 hours for flavors to blend. The dressing will keep for about a week.
