Til Chikki is made with sesame and jaggery and served as a sweet on the day of the festival. The recipe for chikki has always been extremely simple and can be prepared within 15 minutes.

Ingredients of Til Gajak 

  • 1 cup til (white)
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1 cup gud

How to Make Til Gajak 

  • Dry roast sesame on low flame till it splutters.
  • Heat ghee and add 1 cup jaggery in a kadhai.
  • Boil the jaggery syrup on low flame till the syrup turns thickens.
  • Check the consistency, by dropping syrup into a bowl of water, it should form hard ball and cut with a snap sound.
  • Now add add roasted sesame seeds.
  • Pour the mixture onto steel plate greased with ghee.
  • Get together forming a block, be careful as the mixture will be very hot.
  • Using a rolling pin roll the slightly thick block.
  • Cut into pieces immediately.
  • Serve til chikki once cooled completely, or store in a airtight container and serve for a month.
