vegetable fried masala idli

It is an interesting and unique way of preparing the instant idli recipe with rava and veggies. Traditionally idli’s are made with the combination of rice and urad dal batter which eventually yields white coloured dumplings. but it can also be made with semolina batter to which finely chopped veggies are added and steamed with the same procedure.

Ingredients

  • FOR IDLIS
  • 1 Cup semolina
  • 1 Cup curd
  •  Little water
  • Salt
  • 2 Packets Eno
  • FOR TADKA
  • 1  OnionThinly Sliced
  • 1  Capsicum Thinly Sliced
  •   Salt To Taste
  • 1 Tsp Chana Dal Soaked
  • 1 Tsp Urad Dal White, Soaked
  •   Curry Leaves
  • 1 Tsp Rye
  •  Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Degi Mirch

Instructions

  1. First, make idlis using the ingredients above.
  2. Eno must be added just before creating idlis so that the idlis become flexible.
  3. Now take a wok, add oil, add rye then curry leaves followed by soaked dal, fry for 2/3 minutes.
  4. Add salt and fresh red. Now add the onions, sauté them and add the pepper.
  5. Sauté all the vegetables until they become tender.
  6. Now cut each idli into 4 pieces and mix it into the mixture prepared above.
  7. Serve hot with ketchup.
