This coconut chutney can be consumed during the vrat, fast or upvaas like Navratri, ekadasi, maha shivratri and so on.  During fasting days, people consume falahari diet that consists of fruits, vegetables, dry nuts and some dairy products. No onion and garlic are consumed in this diet and vrat recipes are prepared with few simple ingredients.

Ingredients of Vrat Ki Coconut Chutney

  •  Cup Peanut
  • ¼ Cup Chunks of fresh coconut
  • ¼ tsp Rock salt
  • ¼ tsp Roasted cumin powder
  •  tsp Black pepper powder
  • ½ Slice Lemon It can be replaced with 2 tbsp of curd
  • 3 Pieces Green chilli
  •  tempering or tadka

    • 2 teaspoons Ghee 
    • ¼ teaspoon Cumin seeds
    • 2-3 Curry leaves optional

How to Make Vrat Ki Coconut Chutney

  • Add ⅓ cup of peanuts and dry roast in a kadhai.
  • Add coconut chunks and green chilli roast them, switch off the flame and let it cool down.
  • In a grinding jar add all the ingredients along with rock salt, black pepper powder, lemon juice, roasted cumin powder and lemon juice, grind them into a smooth paste.
  • Heat the ghee in a small pan on medium heat.
  • Once hot add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  • Then saute curry leaves for few seconds.
  • Immediately add this tadka to the chutney.
