To make your fasting experience tasteful, here we have a variation of kadhi that you might not have heard before! Unlike normal kadhi, this Vrat Ki Kadhi is cooked using water chestnut flour, yoghurt, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves and a few common spices which are eaten during fast.

Ingredients of Vrat ki Kadhi

  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Singhare ka atta 
  • ½ teaspoon Red chili powder
  • Rock salt 
  • Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Cilantro 

For Tempering:

  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • Dried red chilies
  • Curry leaves

How to Make Vrat ki Kadhi

  • Take yogurt, singhare ka atta, rock salt, red chili powder and sugar in a bowl. Whisk all of them.
  • Now add water and whisk again to mix.
  • Take this mixture into a kadhai and turn the heat on medium.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes or until thickens.
  • Heat ghee in a small tadka pan on medium heat. Once hot add cumin seeds and let them sizzle a bit.
  • Then add dried red chili and curry leaves.
  • Immediately add this tempering to the simmering kadhi and mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro.
